Mothers Prayer (by Bob Christie)

Well Mothers Day last year which was also my cousin Ruaridh's baptism my Grandad who helped alot with the service wrote this prayer for Mothers Day. I think its really nice and wanted to share it - please include the mothers in my family and in your own.

Loving god, on this special day, this Mothers day, we thank you for the love of the mothers you have given us

whose love is so precious it can never be measured, whose patience seems to have no end. May we see your loving hand behind them guiding them.

We pray for new mothers, coming to terms with new responsibility and for expectant mothers, wondering and waiting;

We pray for mothers who embrace the joy of motherhood every day. May they continue to receive your grace to nurture their children with unconditional love.

We pray for mothers who are stuggling with the burden of motherhood. Those who are tired, stressed or depressed; and those who struggle to balance the tasks of work and family. Help them know that you are with them through the hardest times.

We pray for mothers who's children have grown up and left home. Who see their children maturing with different values and without seeming to practice the faith nutrured in them. Help then embrace the differences and fill them with your mercy and forgiveness so that they might enbrace their children with compassionate love.

We pray for mothers who feel lonley, whos homes no longer hold the sounds of children. Help them to see what you have in store for them now. Help them to see that you are doing something new in them. You are preparing them for a new phase, a new service and a new way of loving you.

We pray for mothers who are seperated from their children by war or conflict. Who's children are facing danger and death every day, and for those whos children have not and will not be coming home. Help them come to terms with there loss and grief.

God our creator, we also pray:

for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty;

for those whose children have physical, mental or emotional disabilities;

for those who have children they do not want;

for those who raise children on their own;

for those who have lost a child;

for those who care for the children of others;

and for those whose desire to be a mother has not been fulfilled.

Bless all mothers, everywhere, that their love may be deep and tender, and that they may lead there children to know and do what is good, living not for themselves alone, but for god and for others. Amen

Wed 16th

Well this week we have a long weekend off school which is great and i decided to spend the first day of it with my two best friends Daniel and Lauren. The three of us went out for lunch at the Eastern Buffet which was great. We had a jelly eating contest and I lost cause I was given all the horrible green jelly and then we finished all the restaurants yellow and red jelly and there was literally about 20 jelly pots sitting on the table when we left. Then Daniel went home cause he was tired but me and Lol went bowling. Had really great fun bowling especially always changing the name on the screen, it started that Lol's name was 'Lauren the Ninja' then 'Lauren Smells' then just 'L' and mine was 'Kerri is Awesome' to 'Kerri0oui'. In the first game Lauren got two strikes in a row and she won it and in the second I got one strike even if it wasnt a proper one and I just won. Then we walked over to Dobbies and made plans for our future Friends style penthouse. Then whilst chilling with the birds in the Dobbies garden I called my Mum to ask for a lift to my Grans house cause it was pouring down with rain and she lives 2 hours walk away at least and I might as well have started WWII! Lets just say that when she came she was judging me and shouting at me for paying for the day with vouchers which is kind of her fault. I am fifteen. I cant magic money from thin air and Im legally too young for a proper job. If she wont give me any sort of pocket money or money that I am allowed to spend on days out then she cant judge me for not having money. Secondly she was angry for giving me a lift. I am fifteen, she is my Mum. Its what Mums do. I was at least two hours away from my Grans house, it was raining, again back to the previous point of not having money for a bus fare so I asked her for a lift. What other choice do I have, buy a car learn to drive and make my own way everwhere cause trust me I would if I could but I am fifteen. Anyway as you can tell I am not in the best of moods and I am very angry with my mother but the actual day out yesterday was fantastc.

Well whats happened this past while, not much, had alot of meetings for 'Le Songe de Nuit d'Été (Pirame et Thisbé)' which is basically our French adaption of 'A Midsummer Nights Dream (Pyramis and Thisbe)' me and my two bestfriends Daniel and Lauren and a guy called Michael are doing this short play in french for this competition in edinburugh in march, i play pirame the man and daniel plays thisbé the woman and lauren is the wall lol,

and had an info evening for next years choices last night, got to see a draft of the choice sheet and if it stays the same im choosing maths english spanish business management and french and doing rmps in 6th year, and deciding between two ideas for my future career - study bus man at university level and get a job as a manager somewhere or the definately better, more enjoyable but less realistic option of studying to teach high school english abroad ie spain, but have a meeting next week with my mum and the careers advisor to talk about these two careers and what id need to do/study etc :)

going to the eastern buffet for lunch tommorrow with thisbé et le mur aka daniel and lauren lol, should be good, im looking forward to it :)

The Two Most Beautiful Babies In The World

And Ruaridh - he is the blonde-haired green-eyed little boy who is 17 months old now. My amazing little cousin in the last two photos. I LOVE THESE TWO BABIES THEY MEAN EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD TO ME VOTE FOR AMBER SUTHERLAND AND RUARIDH CHRISTIE IN THE DUNFERMLINE PRESS TOP TOTS CONTEST!!!!

Update

Well since I havent been on here since October, thought I should let you know whats changed. We had snow, snow and more snow. In fact knee deep snow which left most of Scotland at a standstill and meant no school for nearly two weeks. Then we had our prelims. They were stressful but I did okay in them. Pleasently surprised with Chemistry which I got a B in and English which I got a 1/2 in, everything else was as expected or worse. Then we had Christmas. Had a very good time. Was very ill with swine flu for basically the whole holidays and was struggling to get out my bed on Christmas Day but it was overall a fantastic day still. Got a real leather jacket and perfume and about 100 nail polishes and lots of other little things. And now everything is back to "normal" although school still feels like a madhouse and things are still very busy and stressful. The next while is due to bring our option choices for next year, then our exams, then my baby sisters first birthday then exam results. Gonna be a hectic couple of months but bring it on!!
